Everybody who stays in the student village knows how bad the internet connection is there. Infact this held me up in a couple of modules last year. The problem is that the connection isn't enough to support the number of people who need to use it. Especially those who try to stream videos.
Why not use the library instead? Well over the summer the machines were "upgraded" to Windows 7 OS. The problem is that these are older machines that haven't been given the hardware to support the system. This causes them to run even slower than before.
Onto my latest piece of research. Many people remember Mary Poppins, the family movie about the nanny who's "practically perfect in every way". But lets see what happens when somebody else gets a hold of this footage.

This short film is aptly titled 'Scary Mary' or Mary Poppins recut. As you can see footage from the movie has been cut and put together in the form of a trailer...for a horror movie. The trailer is mostly made from clips of the more insane happenings around the house. Toys coming to life, Mary sliding up the banister, women being blown away by extremely strong winds and more. Then theres the sound and music. The trailer opens with Mary coming from the sky with the song 'stay away' playing which just makes the whole thing look and sound completly sinister, like she has come down to bring hell onto these poor children. Then plays the fast pased music typically shown in horror trailers to showcase the scary happenings in the movie. Which it does here all too well. The trailer then closes with the children running away with Mary singing 'stay away' once again just to up the creepiness factor before ending the trailer.
Just look at that stare. Pure evil.
If you haven't seen Mary Poppins, this trailer would make you go 'What the hell is this!' The person to thank for this is movemker at youtube.com

1st Post - Animation/Moving Image Research
Hello, John here. For my first post I looked around at some videos. I don't have the means to upload a video at the moment (or rather I do but with my connection it would take too long to upload them). Instead here is a link to a video I found today;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjhzXnTKayU
The video is titled "Doppio was Phone?". The creator of the video 'AntfishTAS' created this video by looking through and scanning the manga "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure", choosing images of a certain character, usually reaction images. He then wrote out and performed the audio for the sketch along with his cast. Then using video editing software he inserted the appropriate reaction images to what was going on in the audio he had recorded.
This video is a sort of byproduct of the abridged series craze that hit on the net a while back. The audio is mostly references to films and games that appeal to its target audience (like me!).
I enjoyed this mostly because of the pop culture references inserted in the sketch. The images worked well with what the audio was communicating.
